For over a month (again) I live next door to a garbage dump. UPDATE: In response to your reply I have been contacting the office about these issues of the trash next day since they have moved in. They write them up and they pick up one item and nothing ever happens after that. It took two years to have them clean up three car batteries sitting on the property but they still left the rotted wood. Now they are renting out a room to people. How is this allowed in a community? Why should people who keep their yard nice have to look at this dump and be embarrassed to invite family over?

Book for a month in your sun RV resort in Haines city and find out that it was a trailer park, no activities, poor amenities, pool in maintenance all the time, clubhouse always close, dog park and trash place horrible. Your selling your place like a RV resort but 90% of sites are permanent folks that don't give a $#@ about travelers and respect of the rules. We waste our time here and manager cannot do anything.

I am a proud homeowner in one of your communities. I have had a few concerns that have been taken to our clubhouse, and have called our manager on a few occasions. Sadly......COVID gets the blame for reasons of my concerns. That's where Sun Communities corporate office has came in. I called last week and was told I would receive a follow up phone call. I have yet to receive one. I called a couple times today and your phone rings and rings and rings! Then, even on one occasion the phone was answered and I was hung up on. I even left a voice mail as well. Is there a secret or a special way to get someone to return my phone call? Just wondering???????

It’s a shame when I first became a resident of the communities it looked reasonable to live in. Unfortunately working with “management” on this property has been a nightmare. From projects half completed, to bad construction and maintenance of the roads being completed and photo documented. I made a large 8 page documentation of the condition we moved into this place and made sure to document anything that was wrong. So as to not be held responsible for said damage from the prior tenant. An example was a dishwasher that was thick with cigarette tar that wasn’t going to initially be replaced, but after I pressured the management office finally was. Yesterday I spoke to “Mike the manager” who instead of taking my issue seriously attempted to gas light me and blame me for the problem of poor communication. Letting me know that the construction improvements being made to some sidewalks wouldn’t affect me. Which was a lie, he also stated he went to everyone affected, also a lie, which again was a shame. I attached a photo showing the actual removed pavement. I gave him anecdotal observations and he immediately got defensive, when asked about what lot I lived on I was attempting to guess, he cut me off mid sentence and didn’t even let me finish saying which I lived on. Stating “you’re not affected” in a very aggressive and condescending tone. Funny thing, I found a section of pavement removed from in front of my “home”. With no notification. The last time we were informed of any kind of improvements we also were given half the information and I had to speak with the office and get an email showing the “map” of the improvements. The flyer communication given to residents contained a dozen errors from inaccurate dates to spelling and grammar errors. Not difficult spelling/grammar errors, but simple ones. So professionalism seems to be a problem with office staff. Instead I as a resident must play detective and figure out what’s happening , if there is a chance to be towed, fined, or prevented from accessing our driveway. With someone who has a physical disability this is both frustrating and disappointing. As I don’t suspect I will get any response I will the photo I took of the site with the removed sidewalk. It’s my opinion if you have an entire street affected as in this case, each resident should be informed of said construction. Even if it’s not directly in front of their “home”. Being a good tenant and paying your rent/property fees on time simply isn’t enough it seems. So if you have an opportunity to not live in a place managed by this company I strongly recommend it.

I can't even begin to tell you how many scams are going on, right under this company's nose. I have left seven voicemails with Sun communities corporate, and not one of them could take time out of their day, to contact me and my wife back. Let me let you guys in on the scams that some communities allows their properties to pull. We applied for a modular home, located on 26 Mile and Van Dyke in Washington township michigan. I applied for it on a wednesday, they told me I must apply before I am approved to see anything in person. So I applied, then my wife got a phone call Thursday that we were approved. We were both very happy, because it put an end to a three-month search for our new home. Upon finding out we were approved, that same day, approximately 20 minutes later, East village estates, remember that name, because these are where the scams happen. So, East village estates said we were approved and then 20 minutes later sent us a lease through our email. I don't know how things are done nowadays, but I would never sign a lease in an email. I would sign it in person like any grown man or woman should. Unless there's circumstances that allow you not to do so. Now mind you, we had never even looked at the rental that we applied for, they said we must approve the application, before you can look at the rental. So, because my wife refused to sign a lease for a place that we never even seen in person, the lady started getting very frustrated with us and said you either sign it or I got 10 other people on a waiting list who will take it. I said ma'am, would you sign a lease on a property you've never even seen before? She had no response, to go along with the blank look that she had at the counter, I'm starting to wonder if the employees even had brains. I'm shocked that some communities would even hire these girls to represent them, when we walked in they were in sporty leisure clothes, and they were playing on their cell phones. My wife and I stood at the counter for 10 minutes before the one lady even would look at us. So, when we asked to see the rental the day we got approved, that would have been on a thursday, we set up an appointment for Friday at 4:15. We went to our appointment, with our checkbook in hand, and some communities can review the cameras of this rental office, we literally had our checkbook in our hand ready to get a property. And then there was a gentleman in front of us in line, he politely told my wife to go ahead because he was going to be a while. Once the lady got done playing on her cell phone, she leaned her head over, looked around my wife and completely ignored her, and asked the person behind her, can I help you? Right there, I knew something was off and I knew this wasn't going to end well. Let me just say that my wife can handle herself and she is the last person in the world that you would like to disrespect. so long story short, we told the girls we were there to see a property, they said which one, I'm thinking in my head didn't you make my appointment and didn't I apply and you approve my application? I mean come on, you would think the girls behind the desk would have some knowledge, or at least some common sense. But obviously that was too much to ask. They said what address, I showed them the print out, they said oh that's already gone. We said, how can it be gone, we just applied yesterday and you set our appointment for today. The lady said because we would not sign the lease in the email, and we wanted to see the property instead of just sign a lease, that they gave it to the next person in line. Now mind you, I already told my landlord that we found something and that we would be out in 3 weeks, I can't explain to you how catastrophically terrible this is. I will be making flyers and videos for social media , explaining how shady the business owner is, in his little suit (LOL), along with sun communities as a whole. Just so happens, they screwed over a trading card streamer, so I got nearly 80,000 followers, who I'm going to ask to please share my videos.
