Sundance Lakes RV Resort Introduce
Sundance Lakes RV Resort, located at 6848 Hachem Dr, Port Richey, FL 34668, is a campground and RV park that has recently faced severe criticism from its residents, particularly regarding its handling of the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. You can contact them at (727) 862-3565 or +1 727-862-3565.
Based on numerous detailed reviews, the following issues have been raised:
- Lack of Post-Hurricane Support: Residents report a significant lack of support from management following Hurricane Helene. This includes a failure to provide timely assistance with electricity restoration, debris removal, and basic needs.
- Communication Breakdown: Residents express frustration over the lack of communication from management. The park's Facebook page, a primary source of information for many, was reportedly disabled, and phone lines were allegedly shut off.
- Neglect of Elderly Residents: Given that many residents are elderly, the lack of communication and support has raised serious concerns about their safety and well-being.
- Infrastructure Issues: The park reportedly had pre-existing infrastructure issues, including electrical system deficiencies, that were exacerbated by the hurricane.
- Financial Concerns: Residents claim they were charged rent despite being without essential services like electricity for extended periods.
- Allegations of Mismanagement: Reviews detail allegations of management prioritizing their own comfort over resident needs, including claims of new appliances and a booked cruise while residents lacked basic necessities.
- Intimidation and Threats: Some residents claim they have been intimidated or threatened with lease non-renewal for speaking out about the issues.
- Slow Response to Emergencies: Reports indicate slow responses to resident emergencies, such as a resident passing out from exhaustion.
- Deceptive Communication to Corporate: The park management is accused of providing false information to corporate offices regarding the state of power restoration.
The overwhelming sentiment from the reviews is one of deep dissatisfaction and concern for resident safety and well-being. Potential visitors should be aware of these serious allegations and consider them carefully before making a decision to stay at Sundance Lakes RV Resort.
It is also reported that a class action lawsuit is being pursued by the residents.

I just know when they had no electric after the storm and electric co. came to turn it on there were updates that had to before they could get turned back on. They went a few months without electricity and were charged for rent anyway. They are trying to rebuild and have to wait on the RV park to upgrade the electric and cant really live there because the owners didn't do upgrades and couldn't get electric turned on for a few months, these people could live there and still got charged for rent. Unbelievable!
I have been living at the park for long enough to finally leave a review. Hurricane Helene really showed a lot of people a lot about how management with in the park works. When the hurricane took everyone’s home, everyone in the park was left without electricity, all roads were flooded, fences were torn apart, sheds moved across from 1 side of the park to another. Management and park maintenance were removed from the park and placed in to hotels by upper management. The residences were left to their own devices. The Facebook page was “temporarily disabled” because too many people were asking for help and they got tired of answering the same questions over and over, so all out of town residents (as well as people who live here) were disconnected from management and maintenance. By the time they read this review will be when they realize, they haven’t even done a door to door with a resident list, to check and make sure their residents are alive. Since most in the park are elderly, they rely on the Facebook page for communication to others in the park. If they are trapped in their home, they have zero way to inform anyone. In preparation for the storm, no measures were taken. There were residents in the park that were not even aware there was a hurricane coming or what to do. At no point, even when our ENTIRE area was under MANDATORY evacuation, did the management think to inform the residents that they’d take preventive measures by cutting electricity and turning off the water before flooding would occur. Residents were greeted with bursted pipes, and the lives that were trapped in the flood zone, got to watch in the morning as water mains sprayed free. Breakfast from McDonald’s was picked up before the residents that were trapped over night were taken care of or even accounted for. They knew there was to be 25 foot surge and left their maintenance vehicles in the low ground, where they were flooded. There is still debris throughout the park and roads are not manageable, the city has left us 1 dumpster for all the residents to try to remove ALL their belongings, on roads that are still a wreck. We have had ZERO communication with management of our residences because they have shut off their phones, closed our Facebook page and moved themselves into hotels. For 5 years I have witnessed this park go through 4 management teams and every one of them has failed. This is a natural disaster and you have neglected your residents. Edit 1: it’s now been 4 days and there have been zero changes to the way the residents are being treated. Corporate doesn't want to speak to the residents either, but luckily they had the ability to refurnish the manager and maintenance manager with new appliances and furniture before the residents are properly taken care of with basic human needs. Edit 2: while still without power, management or maintenance contact, the residents are learning about how park manager and maintenance manager are going on a Caribbean cruise next week. So while the residents have suffered, had zero communication the managers get a nice cruise booked for them. On top of the appliances. Corporate believes our park has 75% power. We have 1 street with power. The park is lying to corporate offices to safe face. Residents that are speaking out are being threatened to not have their leases renewed by a corporate entity. Edit 3: Attached is a screenshot taken from the managements FB page. This was in response to people asking when power would be restored and when the power company would be contacted. Their name has been covered to protect them, however the profile picture will be left public. Edit 4: 3:45 oct 2. Earlier today a resident passed out from exhaustion. Finally, time now posting, park management is driving around giving out ice. 1st time since the hurricane. Edit 5: Corporate just came to my residence with 2 other employees to intimidate me and inform me that I am just a vacationer and all of this is my fault. I was told “I bet that $470 a month was great until now”. We will be seeking a class action lawsuit.
Terrible service. Half the park still doesn’t have power. The residents are fed up with the managers. Please, take the time to go read the reviews on their corporate page as well. They are screwing over so many family throughout all the parks they manage.
After reading the reviews & how the park management neglected the residents before & after the hurricane, I wouldn't want to stay here for a day at all. Stay away from this park!
Office staff are great people. Just moved in and felt very welcomed. Was extremely nervous facing our first hurricane but staff made me feel better. Park is kept clean, neat and enjoyable. Again just moved in so let's see how it goes.
