Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre

In Ottawa I stayed at this hotel for 15 days on business. To start with, I really liked the service at this hotel. The people were very kind, attentive, and provided excellent customer service. The location is great, you have everything around you: restaurants, grocery stores, parks, and many, many places to visit. Now, the most important thing for me at the hotel is obviously the rooms. It's really worth it because they have a kitchen, so you can prepare your own food and they have the necessary utensils, a large refrigerator, and they also have a dishwasher. The beds are very comfortable and extremely clean. Another thing is that the rooms don't have carpet, which gives a feeling of more cleanliness. I am very grateful to the person who cleaned my room, who supported me and is very kind. As for the price, try to schedule in advance so that it doesn't cost you so much, but unlike many hotels, this one stands out by far. Unfortunately there is no buffet included.

Excellent for one main reason : the staff ! The rooms, the location etc meets expectations and I appreciate the consistency when I go to a Best Western. But I really want to highlight how kind and knowledgeable the staff is. Hospitality is at the center of how they approach things. My family and I will come back.

The staff here was wonderful, polite and professional. Room was very clean and spacious. Very welcoming and absolutely great visit. The restaurant food and service was excellent. Thanks for a Great Stay!

The room was spacious and clean. I appreciated that there were two sofa chairs and a table as well as a desk and chair. The staff also did their best to accommodate my request that unscented products be used in the preparation of the room. While I could still smell some scent in the room and bed, it was not too bad. I was very appreciative of that. I do look forward to when hotels just used unscented cleaning products for all cleaning but at least they were able to do my room without them. I would recommend this hotel.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! This hotel charged my VISA nearly $900 in holds for a $223 stay that I paid in full at check-in with a gift card. Four days after check-out, holds have still not been released (not refunded, not even released), despite written assurance from manager that they would be. EDIT/RESPONSE: yes, you did release the holds, four days after I checked out, BUT: 1) the holds should never have been put on my card in the first place, as I paid for the room in full with a gift card upon check-in. $100 for incidentals, maybe, but not nearly $900, and 2) thanks to your actions, my VISA was unusable for 10 days, until the release on the holds finally cleared. So much for doing anything on an Ottawa vacation. You screwed up our entire trip. 3) the problems at check-out caused us to leave 2 jackets behind in our room. When we realized what had happened and called, a helpful person at the front desk said they would look for them and send them to us if they found them, and took my full home address. A few days later, I emailed and asked if you'd found them and sent them. I got an email back saying that the housekeeping staff said they did not find them. Two days later, the jackets were delivered to us. So, thank you for returning them, but I wish you hadn't felt it necessary to lie about not finding them.
