Fantastic state park with beautiful views and hiking trails. It's also a filming location for M.A.S.H., Planet of the Apes, Halloween H20, Cleopatra, and many more. Check the weather before hiking, as it can get hot with limited shade, and bring plenty of water.

The park ranger was very strict about check-in time and wouldn't let us enter or even check our campsite to see if we could set up. Campfires are only allowed with wood when the fire danger is in the Green zone. Even with no wind, it remained Yellow during our stay, which was disappointing.

This is a wonderful and under-visited park. The landscape has stunning, steep canyons and rugged hillsides that make you feel like you're in a faraway place. There's also a beautiful creek running through the park. Some people swim at the falls, but it often has high concentrations of human fecal matter. I wouldn't swim there. The museum has a fantastic docent who can tell you all about the area's history. It's a well-run park; it could be a national park.

I visited the M.A.S.H. filming location. I went hypoglycemic while hiking back, and a very friendly park ranger gave me some candy and stayed with me until he was sure I was okay.

It was great! My class and two other classes had an amazing time. The sights were beautiful. Some classmates and supervisors and I had lunch in a nearby area. We saw lots of animals: 3 deer, 1 frog, many dragonflies, 1 rattlesnake, and more. If you like hiking and exploring nature trails, I recommend Malibu Creek State Park in California.
