Hampton Inn Daytona Shores-Oceanfront Introduce

Welcome to Hampton Inn Daytona Shores-Oceanfront, located at 3135 S Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32118. While not a campground or RV park, as a lodging option, it provides oceanfront accommodations. However, it is important to note that this hotel has received numerous negative reviews regarding its maintenance and service.

Guests have reported a persistent, unpleasant odor in the main corridor and rooms, often described as musty or mildew-like. This issue is believed to be related to the air conditioning system. Additionally, the beds have been noted to have slumps, indicating a need for rotation or replacement.

The hotel has also suffered foundational damage from recent hurricanes, resulting in sinkholes in the parking lot. This raises concerns about the overall structural integrity of the building. The parking lot itself is small and awkward, requiring guests to pay a daily fee and often park across the street.

Service issues have been a significant complaint, with guests reporting unclean rooms, a lack of towel replenishment, and inconsistent garbage removal. Some staff members have been described as rude and unhelpful. Additionally, local business advertisements have been stuffed into guest room doors, causing disturbances.

Guests have also reported that the hot tub and beach access were closed during their stay without prior notification. This lack of communication has led to further dissatisfaction. Overall, the hotel is described as needing major renovations to address its numerous problems.

Hampton Inn Daytona Shores-Oceanfront offers oceanfront lodging but suffers from significant maintenance and service issues. Guests report odors, unclean rooms, parking problems, and closed amenities. It is highly recommended to consider alternative lodging options.

Funky odor when walking into the main corridor. You could tell there were plenty of air fresheners installed to cover the stink up. Our room smelled like a musty mildew locker room or something. Maybe they need to change out the air conditioning system. The reason is that when I turned off the A/C unit and opened the beachside balcony door, the odor went away. The beds need to be rotated because mine had slumps to one side. Also, there are foundational problems after the 2 hurricanes hit. The parking lot has 2 major sink holes. Who knows what else is wrong with this place. This particular hotel needs major work done to save it.

Worst hotel experience. We stayed Wednesday to Saturday and never had our room cleaned. Asked for towels at the desk three times over two days before I could get clean towels. No one even checked if we needed the garbage out. Original check in employee was very rude to us. The rest of the staff was very nice but not helpful at all. Still can’t understand how no one had access to get me a clean towel for over 24 hours of asking for one. Twice during stay food ads from local businesses were stuffed in our door, one while we were sleeping. There was no warning that the hot tub and beach access was closed. Apparently I was supposed to go back in the website 6 months after booking to see that information. Parking was a nightmare. The lot is small and awkward. You pay $16 a day which I wasn’t aware of but then you end up having to park across the street anyway.

Absolutely horrible. This is sad as we have always had such a great experience. We will never be back. First we arrived at 2 pm and as a gold member early check in is sometimes available. I was told for 100$ I could. I said isn’t that a perk. Again very rude and said it rooms are available. I said well I have see front desk on my app she said because you need to pay! I showed my receipt and she then said well you don’t have a credit card on file. I again showed her my app that shows my HILTON AMEX ( I will be canceling) I was told twice to read the website. We had recommended this to the other two couple traveling with us as we were going on a cruise and wanted to enjoy our time. So we come back at 4 and check in. The only room available was on the 8 floor, I had reserved the first through digital was told if I wanted a room that was my option. After a long day of traveling I just wanted a shower. NO HOT WATER OR PRESSURE! I again was told to stop down in the morning and speak to the GM. Well guess who that was the rude lady from check in. It gets WORSE! I was told this would be fixed and our room (that was filthy) would be cleaned ASAP. Surprised yep not only did it get cleaned day one IT NEVER GOR CLEANED! No towels no shower fixed! We paid for a balcony also a waste as the Room was so filthy you could not see out the window and due to construction it was disgusting noises and dirty on the balcony! On day two we again asked and was told rooms were clocked for equipment for the races so they could not move us and due to little to no staff they were unable to help! Hot tub and beach access not available food was nasty. So disappointing as we always had a great stay! We stay here often but never again! It is terrible you lost not only one guest but 6! I was so embarrassed we recommended this to our friends and family! We could have stayed at the Hyatt less money and nicer hotel. As a nurse that travels weekly for work I always stay in Hilton properties! Thinking this will no longer be the case! So upset and disappointed when you pay big money for. Balcony and feel like you are staying the roach motel there is. A serious problem!

Gold members that observed the following during our stay from Feb 7 to 18, 2025: • Beach access stairs are broken, have to walk “down three hotels” to get to the beach • Parking lot has 12 spots blocked due to sink holes; overflow parking is across the street in an unmarked lot • Had a major infestation (killed dozens) of drain flies • Room was only serviced once during the eleven day stay; we had to get our own clean towels, toilet paper, etc., and empty our own trash • Pool has numerous sink holes about a foot across and an inch deep • Refrigerator has no controls and it froze everything we put in • Door to patio does not slide – it has to be forced • Patio door lock is rusted and does not work • Closet door lock is rusted and does not work; closet door swings open about 10 inches into the hallway • Hot tub and handicap ramp are taped off due to falling debris from building façade • Toilet had a potty stain on the bottom of the seat when we arrived, likely still there • Ice machine on our floor was not working • Patio chair seat was starting to tear, held breath and hoped it would not fail every time we sat down • Other patio chair had a large stain on the seat • Neighbors chain smoked on their balcony and we were subjected to smoke and a continuous rain of cigarette ash from the other balconies
