We stayed at this location because I found on hotels.com that is a whole other issue in itself. This hotel was booked about a month from our trip on-line. I had booked 2 rooms with 3 beds each. For the group I was traveling with this was what we needed. The day before travel I contacted the hotel directly to inquiry about the card I had used to reserve the room. I had forgotten. The day we were to arrive I had called to inquiry about getting adjoining rooms and was told they do not have any. Which is fine. I asked if we could be put close together and I was told they would try. An hour before we were to arrive that night the hotel called to inform me that the hotel room I had reserved was no longer available and they didn't have a room for me. I was not happy. When asked what happened to my reservation I was met with we don't have it that is a problem with hotel.com since they booked it. So I asked about the other room I had reserved which was under another name in the party but reserved with my card. The hotel person was like you have another reservation? Well that one is fine. How does that work? Reserved same time., checked on both at same time but now one is missing. Suddenly another room was available but with only 2 beds. Not usually a issue but again with the people we were traveling with we had to change up who was sharing with who and sleeping with who. Not exactly fun. When asked if I would be charged more I was told it would be discussed at check in. How hard is yes or no? I was told I would have a room with an ocean view like this was to make it all better. I'm arriving at night and checking out by 10 the next day. Upon checking into our room we found roaches. We were on the top floor. The rest of our party was on the bottom floor opposite side of hotel and also had roaches. The room on the bottom floor didn't have a peep hole or extra locks for door. Made the people in our party feel unsafe. At first glance things didn't look horrible but a longer look you can definitely see wear and tear on every surface. It had smells everywhere you went. Rooms, elevator, lobby etc. I had not read reviews before booking. My mistake. If I had I would not have reserved this hotel. I have since read reviews. Management does seem to comment on reviews but if I was staying last week and still seeing roaches they are not to concerned about fixing the problem that others have complained about prior to my stay. The only positive thing I can say about the hotel is the location which is on the beach. It needs some tlc in a major way especially for the price they are charging for rooms. Someone at the hotel or hotel.com dropped the ball with my reservation. I would avoid this hotel.
The staff was nice. But my experience was a nightmare. First room was really damaged and smelly. And there were (at least) 2 cockroaches. I showed it to to the person in the lobby, and he changed my room. The second one had a leakage from the bathroom sink. He changed me again the room. Third one had again one cockroach in the bathtub. He changed me again, and in final room there was no wifi and the sheets were stained. It is incredible that this place costs more than 10$/night. Disgusting
Baby this place is tore up!! This Quality inn made me realize that all Quality Inn's aren't held to the same standard, because the one in Tampa by the casino is great in my opinion, but this one here is the slums. The only good thing I can give them points for, is the fact that it's on the beach. Other than that, this place was a huge disappointment. First of all the room had dirty carpet floors and carpet baseboards (never seen carpet baseboards in my life.) What kind of genius (and I'm being sarcastic) thinks carpet flooring is appropriate for a beach front hotel where sand and moisture is going to be constantly tracked into these rooms?? The room had a faint mold smell. Then when you look on the ceiling, there's water damage. The bathroom was...questionable. They have this weird rule where you have to wait 8 minutes after you flush the toilet, until you are able to flush it again. The bathroom door looked like it belonged on the set of Saw IV. Had to carry my luggage upstairs because the elevator didn't work. The breakfast was sad. And the worst part of it all, they absolutely do have roaches.
Im very very surprised Choice Hotels acknowledges as one of theirs!! NOT GO BY THE PICS!!! Carpet very old, dirty. Top bedding was stained. Doors don't close tightly. Didn't feel safe. ELEVATOR expired August 2024, 6 months ago!! And Probably wont pass inspection! We noticed the bottom back wall of the elevator wasn't even connected!!
For the price, can't complain too much. Close enough to everything else, and the beach is right there. Staff was friendly and informative. Biggest problem was the room. Found an empty syringe (without the needle) on the floor, and there was a roach in the bathroom. The free breakfast is not worth the effort to go into the reception. Much better finding a place outside
