La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sarasota Downtown Introduce

Local users in need of temporary lodging in Sarasota, Florida, might consider La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sarasota Downtown, located at 1803 N Tamiami Trl, Sarasota, FL 34234, USA. While categorized under Campgrounds & RV Parks for platform purposes, this is a traditional hotel offering rooms and amenities. Based on recent customer reviews, experiences appear to be varied, and potential guests should consider both positive and negative feedback.

Environment: The hotel is situated in downtown Sarasota. One positive review highlights the cleanliness of the rooms. However, a contrasting review describes the rooms as super damp with a musty, mildew odor. This review also mentions a constant weed smell in the hotel halls. Additionally, concerns were raised about the parking lot flooding during rain and the presence of potholes. There were also reports of people hanging around in the parking lot day and night.

Services and Features: One guest appreciated the accommodating nature of the front desk staff, specifically mentioning Nicole, who facilitated a same-day booking with cats. This reviewer found the room spacious, clean, and well-stocked, and noted the overall friendliness and helpfulness of the staff throughout their stay. In contrast, another review detailed numerous issues. These included a policy against bicycles in rooms, a non-operational elevator for several weeks in a four-story building, an unaddressed incident where pool furniture injured a guest, a consistently unappetizing and repetitive breakfast (rehydrated eggs, mystery sausage, DIY waffles on sticky tables), frequent toilet clogs, regular police presence, small TVs resembling computer monitors, a dirty gym, and an inoperable air conditioner that was not fixed. The same reviewer also mentioned a chirping fire alarm in the hallway and loud lobby TVs.

Promotional Information and Considerations: For local users needing immediate accommodation, particularly those with cats, one positive experience suggests that the hotel can be accommodating and provide clean, comfortable rooms with friendly service. However, it is crucial to weigh this against the significant negative feedback regarding the hotel's condition, amenities, and management. Potential guests should be aware of reported issues such as damp and smelly rooms, a problematic parking lot, a frequently out-of-service elevator, and concerns about the breakfast and gym. The negative review also describes unprofessional and hostile behavior from the front desk manager. Given the stark contrast in recent experiences, local users are advised to consider these points carefully and potentially seek more up-to-date information or alternative lodging options before making a booking at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sarasota Downtown. My experience was terrific. My house was tented for termites. I booked a room for 4 nights, called to make sure they accepted cats, but when I went to check in they told me no cats. Literally went to LaQuinta directly after. I was stresses. Nicole at the front desk was so kind and accommodating. She got me in my room immediately. Plenty of room for me, my daughter, and 2 cats. Room was very clean and stocked. Throughout my stay staff was very friendly and helped me with everything I needed. I had no more worries in a stressful situation. I would highly recommend to anyone needing a safe, comfortable, clean, friendly place to stay. Extra thanks to Nicole for all her help!!!

⚠️Don't stay here: This review is honest to God as unbelievable as it may seem. After checking in, we were told no bicycles were allowed in the room. Honestly, I've been staying in hotels of all calibers and never had an issue with this. Kinda petty, but that wasn't the worst of our stay. Because of this rule, there are multiple bikes locked and abandoned all around the hotel locked to anything nailed down but no bikerack. There were roaches in our room. The parking lot flooded every time it ranes and potholes throughout. The elevator of this 4 story building was out of service for several weeks. The umbrella and table at the pool area blew over and hit my son in the face to which the hotel staff was rude as hell about and didn't address or apologize for. The horrible, unetable breakfast is the exact same EVERY morning-rehydrate eggs, mystery sausage, and the typical waffles you make yourself. The breakfast tables are old and always sticky. There were people hanging around outside in the parking lot in cars day and night. The toilet clogged up 3 times during our stay. There were police coming in and out of the hotel regularly. The room was super damp to the point that our clothes, the bed sheets, and the pillows were damp the entire time with a musty damp mildew odor to the entire room. The room smell still haunts my dreams. There is a constant weed smell in the hitel halls and the hallway near the staff area. The front desk manager is extremely confrontational, unprofessional, hostile, and was always yelling at customers and threatened to throw us out of the hotel for asking for another room. I overheard another customer complaining about an unoperational air conditioner and was yelled at by the rude manager. Back in the dirty and smelly room, they have the smallest TV's I have ever seen in a hotel. The TV actually looks like a computer monitor. The gym is disgusting 🤢 The front desk manager has no ADA training what so ever. The air conditioner ran out on the 2nd day of our stay, and it was  never fixed or replaced despite us asking. The beds are absolutely horrible. I had to put a pillow under the mattress just to be able to not fall into the hole in the middle of the mattress. There were dogs barking off and on ALL the time. The fire alarm was chirping in the hall near the break room  the entire time we stayed. The staff don't give a flip at all. The TVs in the lobby are blaring loud during the day just so employees can watch. This place was an uter nightmare, and so was the confrontational manager. I'm reposting this on all social and review sites.

I had a disappointing experience during my stay at this hotel. The elevator was out of order, which made things difficult, especially with my luggage. The bathroom in my room had a strong smoke smell, and to make matters worse, the fire alarm went off for about 20 minutes, likely due to the odor. Unfortunately, I wasn't offered a room change or any compensation for the inconvenience. Based on this experience, I would recommend looking for other options.

Horrible hotel. Dingy bedding. No elevator. Was told it’s has not been working for weeks. Saw a roach near the microwave. Will not stay at this location again. Please consider another location before booking here.
