Customer Reviews
Besides electrical hookups in the B loop, vault toilets, and water bottle fill stations, there are no amenities. The rangers and camp host are great, but the campground lacks features of other national park campgrounds: no store, water fill, dump station, trails directly off the campground, ranger station, or anything else. A nearby state park is much better, with more room, better views, and closer to town. I'd stay there next time and just drive into the park. This isn't a bad park, but it's not up to par with other national park campgrounds we've stayed at.
We stayed at site B18 over Memorial weekend and had a great time. Sites are close together, and there was no bear box at our site. We saw a Mangrove Warbler bird often; it had a nest nearby. Deer were active around the campground. The pit toilets were clean and a little walk from our site. Amazing stars and views!
The canyon is the main attraction, not the campground. This campground is fine, but with only one water spigot per loop, pit toilets, and no hookups, it's only enjoyable for those who can do without such things for a day or two. Definitely worth it to me.
A typical national park campground. The sites are well-developed, but no electricity or sewage. Bathrooms have toilets and running water, but no showers. This campground doesn't have a dump station either, so plan your water usage carefully. But, as with all other national parks, this place is so special that having a campground is a very welcome opportunity to stay.
Stop at the corner store when you turn off 50W for firewood! The campground is pretty remote, and you won’t have cell service or much else. Pit toilets, but they’re clean and stocked with TP and hand sanitizer. We stayed in B7 with a tent, and it was great. The gravel was a little rough, so I wish I had a larger footprint under the tent. The sites are close together, but we weren’t bothered by noise, and there are enough trees and plants for some privacy. We saw deer and chipmunks. The visitor center is close, and there are tons of good trails and drives nearby.
