The hotel is as expected for a 2 star hotel. However, the management lacks professionalism and they’re dishonest. While I was away, my luggage was moved out of my room ahead of my check out time. The cleaner was in my room when I returned and said the cleaning manager moved my luggage to the lobby. I inquired from the cleaning manager what was going on and she offered no reason nor apologies. The day after my departure, the hotel charged $23.49 to my card without my knowledge. Once I discovered this, I called them and they promptly said “as a courtesy, they would remove this new city fee they are implementing.” If I had not looked at my receipt weeks after, this fee would have gone unnoticed. I submitted my complaint to Marriott directly. The hotel manager called after the complaint and began yelling at me, even ruder than the cleaning manager, as she tried to lie it wasn’t her hotel. I would be submitting a follow up complaint to Marriott as this not acceptable.
This gem of a hotel is a short drive to downtown and other St. Petersburg attractions. The lower rates (half of what the downtown hotels charge) more than compensate for this. Hotel is IMMACULATE! Rooms are quiet and comfortable. The free daily brunch was yummy with a nice variety of fruits, cereals, omelets, sausage, etc. Staff is incredibly helpful and I always felt well looked after. I wish I could name all of the people who were so kind from the moment we checked in until our check-out. I'll single our a front desk woman named Serenity who carefully reviewed our check out receipts, explained hotel policy regarding removing any surcharge on your bill if you incurred no additional expenses. I look forward to my next stay!
Really enjoyed my experience so far. They offered me an extended rate for the week which most hotels wouldn't even mention that. The staff has been great, breakfast has been great. Internet works fast even when it's at max capacity. I definitely recommend this place!!
We had a miserable stay here and sadly we won't be staying again. We come every few months to visit family in Saint Pete. The night we came was unusually cold for Florida. I think at night it was 50 or 40 degrees. The air units completely broke, but instead of just turning off it blew cold air all night. We were shivering even with blankets. Not only that, it smelled like cigarettes blowing through the vents all night. None of us slept and although they did bring us blankets they said they couldn't move us to another room because people might still be checking in. This is at 10 pm. There were no apologies in the morning and no checking on us. The whole thing was terrible. There was even a charge for an extra $20 to my card probably for blankets so now I need to call and figure that out. We will sadly never stay here again.
I have been booking travel and lodging for more than a month, and I have to say that Melissa took it to the next level with her efforts, great service, and attention to detail. I really appreciate seeing that during such tough times, it really was a pleasure doing business with her. Feel free to contact me if anything is needed, I reccomend that she is considered for upper management roles in the future. She was a real leader that was professional, empathetic, and great sense of urgency. Thanks Melissa!
