This is a great campground, just 3 miles off the highway. It's open year-round and has water, electric, and an RV dump. Lots of hiking and biking trails – awesome!

A perfect spot to relax. Close to many attractions, beautiful dark skies, and the river. We loved it! John was an excellent host during our stay. Everyone was friendly, even the cute ground squirrels!

Great family campground. It's hard to get a spot during peak season, but in the off-season, it's the perfect base for mountain adventures!

This park is well-managed. LaPine has clean bathrooms, hot showers, and ice for $4 (the bags are small, so consider getting ice beforehand). Firewood is available, and there are full hookups if you want them. There's also an amphitheater for presentations or music. There are about 19 miles of single track for mountain biking. If you like road biking, try riding up to East Lake – a well-paved road with good climbing and water stops. Huntington Rd to Prairie Dr. (the national park entrance) is a good, low-traffic route. There are hiking trails, and it's a great place to float or swim. The only downside is the garbage receptacle is about a mile from the campground. Recycling is available but was full when I was there.

The water is shut off in October, so we just had an electric hookup for $19 a night. The showers are good and hot, and the bathrooms are heated. The camp hosts do a wonderful job cleaning the sites and bathrooms. They're also very friendly; they even offered to take my trash for me. There are plenty of walking trails nearby, and the peace and quiet are amazing. You're truly in nature, and it's beautiful.
