Overpriced & run down- I won’t return. Pros: 1. Location: Directly on the beach and in the heart of the downtown district. 2. The lobby bar, which serves delicious frozen drinks. 3. On site self park (but it’s $20/night) 4. A nice pool, with a beach view. Chairs and towels provided. (But no hot tub which was a bummer) 5. Two fire pits with chairs on the patio. 6. Friendly staff Cons: 1. Absurdly overpriced. 2. The elevators are a constant issue. One of the three has been out for over a year. At one point, all three were out, causing guests to have to carry luggage up/down 4 flights of stairs. More than one guest got stuck in the elevators for 15-20 minutes at a time. Wait time for the one that was periodically working was 5 minutes or longer. Do not stay here if stairs are an issue for you! 3. A very tired hotel in need of a lot of attention. I am shocked this is a Marriott property. The rooms are spacious, but the whole place just needs updating. The carpet throughout the hotel and in the rooms is stained and worn. (Plus, oddly, there are no mirrors). Picture shows the partial ocean view from room 431.

Everything was great, room is clean and nice lobby. Genevieve at the breakfast area was exceptionally fantastic. She worked very hard to make sure all the breakfast bar was replenished and wipe all the tables as guests were leaving so other guests like me can sit down. The only improvement that the hotel needs to make is to replace the AC in the room whenever it’s life is up since that makes a higher than normal noise when it comes on. Great location too so highly recommend this place.

Right on the beach. Clean, spacious room. Comfortable bed. Great views. Friendly staff. Several restaurants in close walking distance, and lots of nice-looking shops nearby. Eat breakfast out unless you are looking for a quick meal that you get in most hotels.

Out of town wedding and this was one of the recommended hotels. 4th floor king suite was great even with the skinny balcony. The parking garage is fantastic as the spaces are wide for my larger vehicle. Staff was pleasant. Had a minor discrepancy on my bill. 1 phone call and an email and bill was corrected in minutes. Breakfast was the normal hotel food and edible. Did not use the hotel bar as there are many bars and restaurants within stumbling distance. I would stay here again.

Even though the young man at the front desk was so incredibly helpful and concerned about my family's comfort and safety we could never stay in this hotel again and I would encourage others not to either. There are some serious design flaws that are causing constant water damage/moisture problems and there is visible microbial growth around the A/C units. This is a danger to guest's health. My 2 daughters and I paid the price for one night stay... I was informed that we were not the first family that was unable to find a room in the hotel that did not have water damage and visible mold growth. They also admitted that the management and maintenance knew about this problem but it is a substantial amount of work to remediate the damage and they said they would be working on it. To be specific about what we found...the first room we checked into had standing water under the window AC unit. I could see that the unit was dripping onto the floor and that a section of vinyl flooring was cut out so that it could drip directly onto the concrete underneath (maybe so that the concrete could soak it up). However it could not absorb fast enough and the water was pooling and going underneath the flooring. There was visible mold growth. We went to the front desk to request to be moved and he was happy to accommodate. We carried our things to the next room and opened the door to a very strong musty smell and it was obvious that room was even worse. I quickly observed the mold growth and warped building materials around the AC unit. The base material at the wall was falling away and you could see the mold growth behind it. Same situation with the flooring cut out to allow dripping onto concrete and water pooling underneath flooring. This time I explained to the front desk that my children and I are genetically sensitive to mold and this is why it is a higher concern to me than you average guest. The young man explained that he knew of some rooms that might be safer because they had this problem earlier that week. He said he would personally inspect a few rooms and be back shortly. On his return he said there were a couple rooms with balconies that he believed to be free of water/mold damage and we could also open the doors to get fresh air exchange in the room. When he escorted us up to the room it did not have any visible mold growth and it had a different type of AC unit that was enclosed in a utility closet. We didn't smell the typical musty odor that sometimes accompanies mold and it was late so we left the door open and checked in. I woke up very early to a headache and the feeling of a chest-cold and knew that this risk was a mistake. I used a coin to remove the vent door on the AC closet and was horrified by the standing water on the ground and black mold growth. We got out immediately. This may not make your family as sick as it made mine but I guarantee you will notice a feeling of brain fog, allergy and sinus symptoms, headache, etc. This hotel is very new and it is a real shame because I generally trust Marriott to take care of there properties. Very disappointing and upsetting to watch my children suffer because of their negligence.
