I booked my reservation via call, and I was not once informed that this hotel was under construction. Upon my arrival, I did notice it was under construction, but I decided to proceed with my reservation since I was advised by the front desk that I would be getting one of the newly renovated rooms that “had been inspected prior to my arrival.” When I entered the room, I noticed it was not complete. The TV stand was pulled out, and the TV had no power connections to it. The room was dirty with noticeable debris and foot prints from construction workers. I called the front desk to inform them that this room is not complete and was not properly cleansed, and they told me they would move me to another newly renovated room, however; that room was also not complete as like the last one, it was missing a mirror in the bathroom which is a necessity for me as I need a mirror to do my makeup since I was on a business trip. I was finally moved to a non-renovated room, and it was so hot, and it just felt very dusty and musty. I went downstairs and asked to cancel my reservation in which was successful. There were also other things I saw while in this hotel: a dirty floor by the elevators, incorrect placement of one of the elevator buttons, AND an expired Certificate of Operation that expired 11/17/2024. It is now February 2025. That elevator does need to be inspected as well because there were brief moments it was not functioning properly. Avoid this place at all costs. Drive 30 minutes down to the Best Western Premier. I should have went there originally as I have stayed there before, but I was trying to stay close to a particular area. See images.
I'm a Honors member and have been for years, but this was one of my worst stays at a Hilton/Hampton hotel. When we arrived we walked into the hotel and even though someone was at the receptionist desk, she didn't greets us. We checked in on the app, and was looking for our room we walked up and down on both ends of the hotel, and she ( Christa) never acknowledged us or anything. First let me say that greetings individuals when they enter has a two fold purpose, one it is common courtesy and two for security purposes, she didn't know if we were there for criminal intent. But anyway, we finally asked her could she direct us to our room, which she rudely responded and told us where it was. We understand the hotel was under construction, we fully understand that, but the room we were given, the floor seemed to not have been vacuumed in weeks. And when I brought it to her attention, she responded as if I was lying, so sent her pictures for proof. Then she put us in another room the floor needed some attention from a vacuum cleaner also, but not as much as the other one, that had cookie crumbs all on the floor. Our check out day- even though check out is 11, the housekeeper was knocking on the at 9:30, really, like they were so eager to clean????? Then when my husband went to retrieve a cart, around 10:30, his key was deactivated to let him back in. I'm glad we both didn't leave the room. The only good part about this stay was the breakfast it was really good, with pumpkin waffle batter and maple sausage, plus a host of other delicious items. But I do what to acknowledge Brittini, she worked one of the days we stayed and she greeted us leaving and coming back from dinner. That was professional and being courteous.
We had a great trip from TX until we got rained out at our campsite in Elberta. Happens to us all right? It was 10am on a Saturday and we had nowhere to go. After searching endlessly online for a decent, reasonably priced room, last minute. On Labor Day weekend - Judy at the front desk got us a room immediately, and didnt make us wait until 4pm check in... she went above and beyond for our family. She was kind. Empathetic. Energized. And just overall welcoming, as we were a mess from the rain and having to pack up camp so quickly. The room was clean, didn't smell of smoke, had no bugs, the bathroom was clean, and so was the bedding. No hair or anything on the linens on the beds. Really impressed by the overall cleanliness of this hotel. We will stay here again when we visit, and can't wait to come back!
This place was perfect for my family's needs. That hot breakfast came in clutch. Judi and the rest of the staff were amazing and helpful. The hotel itself is well maintained. I would happily return if I came back this way.
Dec 28-29 1:30 am... absolute storm! Massive rain....and could NOT enter the hotel! Front door was locked! Key did not open it..it was locked...I picked up the phone and heard it very loud at the desk and I let it ring for 15 mins...no one came! So I went back out into the down pour...tried a side door...which worked! Then went back out into the rain to get the wife from the front...bring her back out into the rain to the side door! Walked back to the front desk...no one...then I saw a heavy set lady come out of one of the rooms at the end of the hall walking toward the front desk...I was to pissed to talk and went upstairs.. I did tell the lady at 11 check out time...... extremely not happy!!
