Unbelievable. I booked a reservation in advance on Choice Hotels site directly and had called after making the reservation (Sat/Sun night 12/07 or 12/08 around 11:30pm) and spoke to the on duty staff/ manager at the time and asked them how much their deposit would be and how it can be paid. The on duty staff/ manager at the time mentioned he could be flexible with it and would be ok if we paid 40-50 dollars for the incidental deposit. I wasn't even trying to haggle with it or anything, I just wanted to know so that we could plan for our day of arrival accordingly. So the day of arrival comes and I call the front desk (around 12:45pm) to double verify, mind you we are already past the 24 hour mark to cancel free of charge. The front desk agent on duty was a female who seemed to be less than professional over the phone, informed us that their incidental deposit is of $100 and can be paid cash or card. I explained to the front desk agent that this is entirely different than what we were informed when we booked this 4 days ago. And now it is not within our budget. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that wouldn't be possible at this time and that she apologized for the miscommunication between the previous call we made and this one. I told her thank you but that doesn't solve our travel problem that we now have. I explained to the agent I used to work in hospitality management directly for Choice Hotels and they should at least be able to cancel our reservation free of charge since we booked direct through Choice Hotels, and should be willing to do so at least out of courtesy for their miscommunication with us and lack of transparency about their incidental authorizations on their websites homepage on choicehotels.com - the front desk agent offered to take my email address and get back to me after she spoke with her manager and I said no Id prefer a phone call to them directly while they can place me on hold or I can leave a call back number. I don't feel comfortable emailing and felt that is not necessary and was less than professional as well. To my surprise I was hung up on, called back and sure enough was hung up on after it rang twice. Talk about completely unbelievable. As a former manager who has worked directly in hotel management I am shocked. I would prefer a call back please from the GM or Owner so we can correct this. Stayed here for the night and had to have my room changed 5 different times. The first time the room had a moldy smell. Second time the room was not cleaned (bed unmade, trash everywhere) Third room the floor was flooded, front lady’s response “what do you want me to do? I already gave you 3 rooms”. Fourth room there wasn’t a tv or curtains. Front lady’s response said “I’ll give you the 2nd room you seen, I asked if it had been cleaned and she said “no I won’t clean it for you” and then proceeded to get upset because I said I wouldn’t sleep in a dirty room. The last room was finally fine. When all this was happening she also kept saying “I’m putting you on the Do not return list and charge you $500” I told her to repeat what she said because I couldn’t believe she said that and she said “say please” I told her “this experience here has been terrible and I will write a review about my experience” she stated “nobody reads them and you can’t come back here”

I rarely leave less than 5 star reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. When we were checking in, the desk attendant confirmed the card I had on file and asked if I wanted to use this card or another one. I asked to use another card and after a short while she said I couldn't because my card on file had already been auto run at 6PM and that thus happens every day - I've literally never heard of this or had it happen before. Also note that there are many signs on the front desk advising all they ways you won't get your $100 incidental deposit back (also wasn't mentioned upon check-in). The lobby and breakfast area is nice and updated, but as soon as you walk down the halls, it's a completely different feel. Hallways are dark, smell like smoke, and everything feels damp. Our room wasn't the cleanest. There were multiple stains on the chair, doors, and walls. I took photos just to make sure we weren't charged! This room felt damp and just smelled like smoke again. The bed was comfortable, so that was a plus, but other than that, I was not impressed - especially at a $200/night price point.

Booked online with Priceline in the middle of a snowstorm. Said on Priceline they accepted pets. Got there and was refused because of my small dog. Sent me back out on almost impassable roads. They refused payment back to Priceline so I'm out the money. If there willing to rip people off what else are they capable of? Young lady was very rude and snotty. Just beware or go to a different place. It's very run down.
