I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Maryland recently and had a mixed experience. The location is excellent—right on the highway, making it very convenient for travelers heading to or from Washington, DC. The price was reasonable, which added to its appeal. However, the rooms seemed a bit outdated and could use some attention. It’s clear they haven’t been renovated in quite some time, as the furnishings and decor felt worn. That said, I noticed that they were doing some painting on the ground floor, so it seems like improvements are underway. Overall, it’s a decent option if you’re looking for convenience and affordability, but don’t expect modern or luxurious accommodations just yet. Hopefully, the ongoing renovations will address the room conditions in the near future.

Trust the reviews, seriously. My sister was misled by a sales rep who claimed the hotel was being renovated and that her bridal party would have updated rooms. That was far from the truth; the rooms were in terrible shape. There were stains on the floors, worn-out furniture, and a strange smell lingering around. In my first room, I noticed scratches on the walls and even heard scratching noises. To top it off, the door had a crack, making it look like it could be easily broken into. When I switched to another room, the air conditioning wouldn’t stop running, and the shower was broken. It’s really unacceptable for a hotel to rent out such poor-quality rooms while claiming to be renovating.

All the bad reviews on this hotel are correct. They are renovating which thank god because this hotel is not nice at all and the rooms look horrible. I haven’t stayed in a hotel in years because we use airbnb but this was easiest for the NFL game as we did not want to stay in DC. From the moment we walked in, the front staff was not welcoming and there was a loud group of women in the lobby. For the most part, the rest of the stay was quiet up until about 1am when the people next to us started to be loud. But, can’t blame the hotel for that and it didn’t last long. My biggest complaint is just how horrible these rooms truly look but again, they are renovating. Also, if you plan on eating breakfast here it will cost you $15 + tax. We went to an iHOP just a few minutes away and had a delicious breakfast instead.

It's undergoing massive renovation. Looks like 1 whole wing is closed. It's fine. it didn't really disrupt. The thermostat was wacky. I had to constantly change it to stay comfortable. I had plans for the "Sports Bar" and restaurant. It's closed. That set a really bad tone. I was in a group sales room block and, fortunately, had a coupon for breakfast. Otherwise, $15.00+ for a very limited serve yourself no taste breakfast. I do not recommend it either way. Employees have to bring your coffee and juice to your table, so that begs a tip. Usually, these self-service sterno heated bland food things are completely self served, but I guess they want us to pay those workers or supplement their pay instead of paying them a decent salary. The scarry thing is that they share a parking lot with a catering party place next door. When I went out the next morning, in the vicinity of my rental, there were 3 spaces where car windows had been broken out for theft. I would not stay there again. If I was again attending a function at the catering place, I would pick another lodging in the same proximity, just a few additional steps away. Their website partly shows the renovation, but when I was there, 1 page on their own site says the restaurant is open, another doesn't. But I had to call to book my room as it was on the group sales block. When I booked, they did not inform me of any of this. It's tough under renovation. I've been a GM in Lodging and held other executive positions, so I know. Strong communication was not their Forte. Plus it took days and days for them to send my receipt as their system was down at check out. Best of luck with the new Flag, new owners, and renovation. They have a huge built-in business from next door, so I'm sure they will be fine.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was clean and bed was fine. However they charged us 200 bucks for the 2 nights. The lobby was freezing. No heat. I Felt bad for staff working up there. We were advised that there was "slight" construction to the building going on. Ok fine. We were placed on the 6th floor and construction was directly above us on the 7th floor. The coffee station had zero milk or any option other than black coffee or hot water. There was sugar. The hotel advertises a resturaunt and bar. Completely shut down closed, and did not appear that it woild be open for business anytime soon, if again at all. Hot water in shower was lukewarm at best. Never hot. No Vending and a non working ice machine. For a place to crash for the night, the room was fine. However at 200 bucks, I felt that it was a bit pricey. In the current state that hotel is in, one should not pay more than 65 a night. It was bare bones. Staff was friendly but no service to really offer as there was nothing.
