Days Inn by Wyndham Plattsburgh

For us, travelling from Canada several times a year, this location is a perfect stopping point. We have been staying here since 2016. However, this last stay, Dec 30th, 2024 was terrible, and the culmination of an ever-declining service and cleanliness/maintenance over the past 2-3 years. Although the hotel is 'under exterior' renovation, and we can certainly make allowances for that, several other factors have been worse with every visit. The linens were worn and not fitted to cover the mattress; the bedspread was 'knobby' and obviously well past the time that it should be replaced: we woke in the morning to shower but found there were NO towels in the bathroom; the elevator was broken; the side entrance door has been open and does not secure, now for the past few years and it is still not fixed. The front desk staff during our visit were unhelpful and non-empathetic: when my husband called for towels at 5:30am, he was told to come down to get them, and endured the front desk person's lengthy complaints about the housekeeping in the hotel, and the frequency of this happening. A total lack of professionalism. The breakfast bar area was dirty, and disorganized, looking like it was 'slapped together' and certainly not appetizing. Travelling with two dogs, we walked the grounds with them, and found the property excessively littered with feces and garbage. It is evident the grounds are not maintained in any way, and are in fact unsafe for walking pets. This location is a poor, and declining, representation of the La Quinta brand.

This hotel used to be our favourite. It was clean, quiet, easy for parking and close to many restaurants and shops. However, it is not case with our last stay recently. The quality of services declined, the breakfast was simplified and the front desk was lazy. All this change perhaps was due to the low season with only a handful of travels. Hope they can improve and reinstate their quality of services as before.

Well were to start, booked a two day night stay with my girlfriend, upon arriving was told there was no hot water for any of the rooms, was told it would be on that later that night, well surprisingly it wasn't, when asked the next day ,was told there working on it an probably be on later the day well ,long story sort ,it was never fixed by the time we checked out an probably still not fix to this day . Was hoping to use the in room tub for those two nights but wasn't able to ,when asked for a refund, for those nights hotel was only able to give 40 percent back ,nooo hot water for days an most likely still doesn't have any

If I can give 0 stars I would. Service at the front desk during check in was absolutely terrible. The rooms are dirty, dusty and dark. I actually went to buy my own sheets at the Walmart across the street. Dead bugs in the window in the lobby, toilet don’t work in the first room they gave us and bathroom was FILTHY. Expired milk in the fridge at breakfast…. The only thing going for this place is the location.

Good location, but terrible experience. Hotel and rooms have very dark / old looking decor. Microwave cable couldn't reach outlet, which was dangerously missing chunks of plastic. No pen / pad, which was great when I needed to take notes from a client on a call, luckily I had my own. Room had a keurig and a couple of cups, but no sweetener or creamer, continental breakfast was absolutely pathetic. Frigid AC was blowing right over the hot eggs and sausage. No fruit or healthy options. Save your money and go to Microtel, they're fantastic. Will never return.
