The building is new and good looking. There is 20 minutes driving to most touristic areas in Charleston that is normal for Mount Pleasant. The room was also a regular size, however the AC thermostat was not working and it got too cold at nights. Another main issue here is poor management that wants to keep everything as cheap as possible. There was no body wash in the room and when we asked for it, the reception said management has decided not to include it to save expenses (unbelievable!!). They also used disposable dishes and utensils for breakfast with cheap bottled juices in a small fridge . The floor of the serving area was very sticky and it was clear that it had not been cleaned properly for a long time. I have been in different hotels under Hilton brand but none of them were as bad as this one.

I had an amazing stay here! I took my first solo trip ever and made two separate reservations as I wanted to extend my stay. I got to stay in the same room and the whole process was very easy. This hotel is in a very convenient location, very close to the beaches, downtown, Daniel island and more. The room was very nice, no bugs, nothing looked worn at all, was very sleek and clean. The hotel had a nice lounging area outside, the food at the restaurant was also good. Best of all was the service, Haley (not sure if I'm spelling it right) was SO amazing and kind and made my stay. There was another lady at the front desk this morning but I did not catch her name while checking out and she was so kind and personable! This was my first time at a DoubleTree and will not be my last. Next time I visit Charleston I will definitely stay here again.

I stay very often at this hotel due to the because of the staff, cleaniness and location. Staff members Hailey and Lisa are always friendly and welcome me back!

DO NOT STAY HERE. The manager, Burt tried to take advantage of me. He knew my car was being towed. I was in an emergency situation and asked for early check in. He wanted to charge me $75 early check in fee when I already paid $350 for a 2 night stay. He refused to accommodate me because I’m not a member. He told me I’m not important status and my booking doesn’t have any value. This is not a hotel you want to book. Stay away!!!

Overall a good stay. I checked for everything before putting my bags down and overall it was good and clean. There were a few tears in the sheets that looked like they were from the washing machine. There was a burn or tear on the curtain. I always wipe everything down and everything seemed very clean the wipes were still white 🤍. We had a few issues. One as soon as we checked in the toilet flusher was broken. We called and they sent a maintenance man right up. It took him a little over an hour to finish. I think he had to go get a part. But it took time out of our family trip because we had to wait... Then the shower didn't want to drain. We didn't want to call maintenance again so my husband checked it and pulled a bunch of 🤢 gross hair and stuff out then it worked just fine. The refrigerator wasn't very cold. The cabinet door to the microwave was slightly broken. There was some black stuff on the shower wall under the soap holder. ( I think mold.) The bathroom fan didn't work so we had to leave the door cracked to be able to breathe. The room was very small, it barely fit the two beds. Customer service was good, but small maintenance issues. The ac was very loud, but we liked it because it lowered the outside noise. We never used the pool because it was cloudy; the water not the sky.
